A few months ago, our sweet Abby decided that she wanted to pray for bicycles for her and Silas. We have been working hard to instill in our children that all things come from God and that we are to praise Him for all we have. She not only decided that God was going to give her and Silas a new bike, but she also had the colors picked out for both! We began praying for these bikes - not telling anyone lest the GRANDPARETNS provided the bikes. We knew that God could do it and we were asking for a miracle for our children. In my heart, I knew that God would and could provide the bikes - just not the specific colors she wanted. Abby would dilligently pray "please God, gib me a pink and purple bike and a blue and green one fer Silas too." I would smile inside knowing she would be content with whatever color the Lord gave her and an all pink bike would be just fine - and Silas, well a red or blue would probably be what we could find . . .
We've been praying for close to five months for these bikes. Again, Abigail being the one to remind us to pray. All the while I would think - we just need to get a big wheel or something for these children to show them that God answers prayer . Yup, that's right. I was trying to help God out - what little faith I have in my great big God! Abby, on the other hand, would pass bikes in the neighborhood or see them at parks and would remind all of us how God was going to someday give her a bike like that. I could only hope.
This past Saturday, we headed out to search for garage sales and maybe just maybe a big wheel or something. We didn't leave the house until after 11am. Way after prime bargins for said sales. We were driving around just looking and "happened" to find a sub-division sale. Paul took the car a differnt way and the children and I walked around to a house selling some children's toys. There was a little bike in the driveway that was just the right size for Silas. He fell in love with it - as did we. And of course it didn't take us long to snatch it up. Abby was so sweet. She was so happy for Silas. She excitedly said "let's go to another sale and see if God will give me a bike!" Paul had scoped out the sales and had seen another bike. We hopped in the car and went straight to the other sale. Abby jumped out of the car and ran to the bike and climbed on. We had found her bike. And she made no small scene letting everyone around know that "God had given her a bike from heaven." Tears still come to my eyes as I think of how God heard and answered my daughter's prayers. And the pink and purple bike for Abby and the blue and green bike for Silas in our driveway is a reminder of how He loves little children.

Sweet, sweet ,sweet. You need to take a picture of these bikes and frame it as your "Ebebenezer".
"Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart" - even pink and purple and blue and green bikes.
This is such a good reminded of how much the Lord loves us - as His children.
And yes, the GRANDPARENTS would have done all they could to get the bikes for them.
Love you guys.
PaPaw says, "God gives grandparents to children to help handle some of the little things." But ain't it cool when God answers a prayer in such a way that we KNOW HE DID IT!
They truly are precious in His sight :) So sweet!
Beautiful story.
